Sometimes a mistake can reveal something even more important. The most recent mailer from the Marge Doyle for Congress campaign does, indeed, have a typographical error. However, the message is clear—we should respect each other—and this provides an opportunity to demonstrate that respect. Our team believes that rather than seeking to spin this like politicians tend to, we should respect the voters of District 8 enough to acknowledge the error. Since October, when I entered the race, I have consistently held that this campaign will be built on truth, reliability, accountability, and respect. This may not be the case with other politicians, but for me, Marge Doyle, RN, it is the only way.
Thank you for your understanding and support. My whole campaign team appreciates the “eagle eyes” of our voters, as we have heard from many—which says that you are reading our mail! We will continue to move forward in a manner that reflects your integrity—as voters in District 8—and ours: integrity that each and every member of this community can be proud of. In an age where the statements coming from our elected officials and candidates seem to change on a whim and rely on half-truths or falsehoods, I am committed to the truth and promise to do better. This same integrity is needed in Washington and that is why I am running for Congress.
