SIERRA CLUB ENDORSES MARGE DOYLE, RN
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – APRIL 23, 2018 – JOSHUA TREE, CA – The Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Marge Doyle, RN, to represent California’s 8th Congressional District. Michael Brune, Executive Director of the Sierra Club, stated, “The Sierra Club’s National Political Team and the San Gorgonio Chapter are pleased to support your campaign in appreciation of your demonstrated commitment to protecting America’s environment.”
Appreciative of their support, Doyle remarked, “I am honored by the endorsement from the Sierra Club—our nation’s largest environmental organization. The 8th Congressional District holds millions of acres of pristine and irreplaceable public lands that employ tens of thousands of people and are directly tied to our sustainable economy. From Joshua Tree, to the San Gorgonio Wilderness, to the Mojave Desert, to the Eastern Sierras, and beyond, I promise my voters that I will do everything in my power to protect and preserve our public lands and natural resources from the big corporations that have bought our current congressman in exchange for drilling and mining.”
Doyle has been a vocal opponent of the Cadiz project, which is attempting to pilfer billions of gallons of water out of the Mojave Desert for profit, as well as all attempts by the current congressional representative to open the district’s public lands to mining, drilling, and pumping.
In addition to the Sierra Club, Doyle has also received endorsements from the California Democratic Party, Equality CA, Home State Advantage, and many major constituent groups.
